Executive & Management Team

Kent Gibson

President
Commercial Property Management Experience

During his career, Kent has overseen a nationwide portfolio of office, industrial, retail and apartment properties located in every region of the United States. He was also the Vice President of a growing regional portfolio to include:

  • 4 million square feet of commercial offices
  • 1.5 million square feet of retail properties
  • 1 thousand apartment units
  • 6 thousand parking stalls

Kent has developed apartments, office buildings (including re-skinning a tenant occupied, office high-rise), and planned for a major mixed-use development. These developments include:

  • Social Hall Plaza
  • Gateway Tower West
  • Zions Bank Building
  • Ensign Plaza South
  • Colonial Court II

He also originated leasing guidelines that maximized rents while preserving optimal occupancies. He increased operational efficiency and lease rates that lead the market.

Kent directed property management, construction, architectural, parking, trash, keys, security, construction management, and leasing teams. Each team had a joint vision that significantly improved client and customer satisfaction.

Licensing and Education

Kent is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Utah. He earned the Certified Property Manager credential from the Institute of Real Estate Management. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor in Science in Finance and a minor in mathematics.

Service in the Community
  • Currently serves on the International Standard Setting Committee for IPMSC
  • Serves on the Executive Committee and Floor Measurement Standards Committee BOMA International (Building Owners and Managers Association)
  • Engaged in advancing the industry as a BOMA fellow
  • Merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts of America
  • Former Chair, Chair-elect, and Vice Chair for BOMA International (2013-2016), Former BOMA International Secretary/Treasurer (2009-2011)
  • Former BOMA International Chair of Building Codes and Voluntary Standards, Floor Measurement Standards, Finance, and audit committees (past service includes International, Regional, and Local Leadership positions).
  • Former Chair of the Downtown Alliance, Former Chair of the Economic Development and Transportation Committees
  • Former Member of the Salt Lake Chamber Finance and Executive Committees
Personal

Kent enjoys golf, basketball, skiing, gardening and spending time with his family.

Commercial Property Management Experience

Chris started his career in property management with Capstone in 2016. His knowledge and desire to learn has led him towards a growing portfolio where he oversees the property management functions and makes sure properties are maintained and operating correctly while maximizing returns and protecting owner’s investments. Chris strengthens existing client relationships and establishes new business relationships as Capstone secures opportunities for long-term growth. He enjoys developing property business plans and strategies to ensure each portfolio achieves the appropriate financial returns. Chris continues to create personal and lasting relationships with clients, tenants, and vendors. He has been a member of BOMA Utah since 2018 and enjoys increasing his knowledge through participation in classes/events. Chris presently serves as a board director for the BOMA Utah chapter. Additionally, he is the board liaison for the Government Affairs Committee.

Licensing and Education

Chris is a graduate from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship. He is also a Licensed Real Estate agent in the State of Utah.

Personal

He enjoys playing and watching sports, being with family and friends, camping, hiking, and being outdoors

Matthew Gibson

Property Manager
Commercial Property Management Experience

Matthew began working as a property manager for Capstone in 2019. He successfully oversees a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, including medical office, general office, retail, flex, and industrial properties, totaling over 400,000 square feet for multiple ownership groups. His expertise spans property, facility, and construction management, tenant relations, and commercial leasing. Matthew is an active member of BOMA Utah and currently serves on the Medical Office Building Committee. Additionally, he serves as the board president of his HOA where he has been involved in the sale and development of underutilized common area for the benefit of the community.

Licensing and Education

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Technologies. His educational background has proven valuable to the property owners he serves, especially as building systems become increasingly technologically advanced.

Personal

Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters in his free time. He has a wide range of hobbies, including outdoor activities, home improvement projects, technology, and music.

Commercial Property Management Experience

Laura has been with Capstone since 2017 and has filled a variety of roles including leasing admin, assistant property manager, and collections admin giving her a wide variety of commercial real estate experience.  She moved into the property manager position in August of 2021. She has also gained experience in facility management, condominium management, and construction management. She currently manages a portfolio of 10 commercial properties. She actively serves on BOMA Utah’s Education Committee.

Licensing and Education

Laura is a licensed real estate agent and is working towards her Real Property Administration Certification.

Personal

Laura enjoys spending her free time with her 3 daughters, family, and friends. She enjoys being active outdoors, playing indoor soccer, or doing photography.
